About South African Bodyboarding Association

The South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA), established in 1987, is the governing body of bodyboarding in South Africa. SABA is a non-profit organisation operating for the aim of developing and nurturing new bodyboarding talent, as well as providing rules and structure to contests at club, province and national level. This in turn prepares the bodyboarder for international competition on the Association of Professional Bodyboarders (APB) World Tour and ISA World Bodyboarding Championship (WBBC), the latter of which will earn him/her their National Colours.

SABA is an affiliate member of Surfing South Africa, the governing body for surf riding. Surfing South Africa is a member of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and the International Surfing Association (ISA).

There are 7 provinces which are affiliated to SABA and are represented at the annual SA Champs, which has been running since 1987.
