Titles are on the line and pride is set to take centre stage as anticipation builds ahead of the Wedge Classic 2008, 8 - 11 July, which is proudly brought to you by First National Bank (FNB), Robberg Fine Foods, Reef Wetsuits, Science Bodyboards and Pam Golding Properties.

As the contest draws nearer our countries best bodyboarders are preparing for battle at one of South Africa's most desirable bodyboarding venues, The Wedge in Plettenberg Bay. The event will be the last stop on the South African Bodyboarding Association (SABA), tour for 2008 and with the coveted SABA titles on offer spectators can be assured of a spectacular conclusion to the tour.

The Wedge is known for its fickle nature and a lot will depend on the forces of Mother Nature as to whether or not she will grant us the swell for which we long. There will be plenty of activities taking place on the beach throughout the day and an Expression Session will be hosted for a select group of riders to bust big and impress judges with their most radical manoeuvre. Organisers are hoping to produce something special at this years Wedge Classic, but i don't want to give too much away before it has been finalised.

The Pre-Event briefing for the contest will take place on the 7th of July at the Angling Club at 18:00. To get there take the N2 towards PE and turn right before the Keurbooms River Bridge.

The contest prize-giving will be held at the same location of the 11th of July.

Entry forms for the event have now been posted on the contest page. In order to download the entry form please follow the link below and note that the entry closing date is, Tuesday 1 July 2008 at 18:30 - late entries will incur a R100 penalty.
