Kumba West Coast Classic 2013

The Kumba West Coast Classic has, since its beginning, been the most highly anticipated stop on tour. With the wild ruggedness of the beautiful West Coast of South Africa and the waves always producing huge ramps and crazy barrels, one can't help but be drawn back each year to compete an be a part of another amazing event.

Well, this year the biggest stop on the SABA circuit is back again and bigger than ever, with an amazing venue and an incredible prize purse what more do you want at a contest.

Setting up camp from the 28th March until the 1st April in Lamberts bay, the Kumba West Coast Classic will run at the best wave in the area on the day, anywhere between Bones, Farmer Burgers, Famous or Yo-Yo's.

Backing the contest again for their 4th year running is Kumba Iron Ore/Anglo American, who are not only investing in the contest side of things but putting back into the surrounding community by creating development clinics to grow the sport.

Along with them are Reef South Africa, Stealth Bodyboards, Stomp wax and SeventyOne Percent suncream who are throwing out bag-fulls of products at all the finalists.

Coca-Cola will be there again showing support with their huge truck, sending out music and heat updates to everyone around as well as keeping everyone in the baking west coast sun refreshed with Bonaqua water And Powerade drinks.

Cederberg Municipality have joined with this year to help with the growing of their community.
And as always the hard working people in the Boland Bodyboarding Association will be the ones behind the scenes, making sure everything is set up and runs like clockwork for all the spectators and sponsors to enjoy the event flawlessly.
