South African Team head off to World Bodyboarding Championships

As the South African National Bodyboarding team heads off to compete in the International Surfing Association World Bodyboarding Championships, SABA chairman, Michael van Huyssteen:

"On behalf of the SABA EXCO and the South African Bodyboarding community, I would like to wish the SA National Team a safe journey as they leave for the World Champs this weekend. I am confident that team will do South Africa proud. Go for Gold!"

The 2012 ISA (International Surfing Association) World Bodyboarding Championship that will take place on Margarita Island, Venezuela from 24th November - 2nd December 2012.

Playa Parguito is a left-hand beach break wave on Margarita Island which is expected to provide some world-class waves. Located on the north-east of the island, Playa Parguito offers 2km of white, sandy beaches, palm trees and is open to swells from the Atlantic Ocean. As first-time hosts, Venezuela is enthusiastic about the upcoming event and will again play host to the bodyboarders in 2013.

The team recently received their National Colours from the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC):
