Day Three: SA Bodyboarding Champs

Janet Middleton
3rd October 2012
Today the contest moved from Lucien to Uvongo to take advantage of 5-6 foot offshore swells. The second round of the Pro division was up first, enjoying the favourable conditions. High risk manoeuvres were the order of the morning with Terence Pieters(SKZN) standing out with a huge ARS - this set the benchmark for the whole day!

Next up were the Juniors, with the offshore wind switching to a light South-Westerly and ensuring contestable waves throughout the round. The wind changed to a slight onshore during the Mens round 2, but luckily there were still waves to be had! Dune Barker (SKZN) launched a massive invert to secure "Wave of the Contest" so far ...

The AGM was held this evening and the provinces of Southern and Central Kwa-Zulu Natal are looking to be firm favourites for the Fishman Trophy; but it's all going to come down to the finals to see how many points each rider can rack up!
